- What's the difference between hotkeys and accelerate keys?
Generally they differ in their working scope. Hotkeys used to be system wide since they act in whatever
applications and whenever fired. Accelerate keys are application wide and works in their applications
only. See Help: Traditional Hotkey Introduction for more details.
- Can I disable/override accelerate keys?
No problem. Hotkey Commander lists a lot of accelerate keys commonly used in the extended hotkey list,
such as <Ctrl>+<X>, <Ctrl>+<Z>, etc. You can disable or override them there. What's more,
Hotkey Commander supports custom-defined/extended hotkeys. You can create whatever accelerate keys and override
them. See Help: Extended Hotkey for more details.
- Why can't some hotkey be detected by Hotkey Commander?
First, please check Question 1 and confirm that hotkey is REAL hotkey not accelerate key.
Hotkey Commander can NOT detect accelerate keys. Then, please note the automatic hotkey detecting is only performed
ONCE when Hotkey Commander starts. So the hotkey list may NOT always be up-to-date. For example, applications that
registers hotkeys may start or exit after Hotkey Commander, in which case Hotkey Commander won't know. Thus you need
to update hotkey lists manually by clicking the "Refresh" button.
- Can I disable/override <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Delete>?
No. <Ctrl>+<Alt>+<Delete> is reserved by system kernel and has the highest privilege. It
gives you the last chance to gain control when system hangs up. Hotkey Commander won't allow overriding it.
- I've already registerd Hotkey Commander on my computer. Can I register it on another?
No. Hotkey Commander is registered and dedicated to one computer only. When making online registration, please
make sure you entered the Serial Number exactly the one from which computer you want to register.
